The Italian company Cifarelli has been manufacturing gardening and cleaning equipment since 1967.
Cifarelli is an Italian brand that is renowned for innovation. Cifarelli products are subject to a continuous process of improvement thanks to investment in the research and development sector, the quality and motivation of the staff involved in product development and collaboration with various research centres, including the CNR (National Research Council). Cifarelli's customers are predominantly advanced equipment users and are therefore also very demanding. The brand's products include power sprayers, fruit shakers and high-end blowers.
In the 1960s, Italy was experiencing an economic boom. After the war, everything was in demand: many new companies were set up, often by people who had given up starting their own businesses after working for larger companies.
1967
Raffaele Cifarelli, a designer of diesel engines, set up a craft company in his name with his wife Rita.
In a warehouse of about 250 square metres, in Via Zanardi Bonfiglio in Voghera, Cifarelli began manufacturing shoulder-worn sprayers of the ‘Nuvola’ brand, equipped with a German Jlo or Sachs engine.
The first sales invoice was issued on 5 November 1967.
1968
The company immediately started selling its products abroad: the first export invoice, for a sample, was issued on 4 April 1968, And on 19 June of the same year there was the first foreign order for the Fischer company in Vevey (Switzerland), which is still our distributor today.
1968-1974
These were very intense years, partly because Cifarelli started without capital and debts had to be paid.
Fortunately, everything went very well, because from the beginning we decided to focus on product innovation in order to ‘do something different’: this desire to innovate would remain a constant in Cifarelli's culture.
The filling pump was invented, allowing the tank to be filled without removing the machine from the arms.
Production of tractor sprayers began.
In those years, Gianfranco Cifarelli joined his brother to follow the company's sales area.
1974
The work grew and, in parallel, the demand for space grew; also the use of engines made by third parties did not allow the differentiation that Cifarelli was looking for even at that time.
In 1974 the new Strada Oriolo factory was opened in Voghera, the first core of the current area.
At the same time, production of engines for fog nozzles began: the first model, the C7 engine, is still in use today, although practically every component has been changed and improved since then.
We decided to stop producing tractor sprayers and concentrate on series production of small tools.
1977
After just ten years, the company already had a strong export vocation, and by 1977 it was already exporting a significant proportion of its production; looking through the historical archives, we found shipments to France, England, the Dominican Republic, Switzerland, Syria, Malta, El Salvador, Venezuela, Ghana, Portugal and other countries.
1981
The first integrated business management information system based on IBM System / 34 was implemented: today called ERP.
1985
The company expanded and in 1985 inaugurated a second factory warehouse.
The occasion was the start of production of trimmers and a new 32cc engine.
1988
In order to increase the quality and flexibility of production, a plastics department was set up to manufacture all injection moulding components.
1992
Results, although good, were not in line with expectations; consequently, we decided to end the range of trimmers and machines based on the 32cc engine: a worm, engine-driven compressor.
1994
The first version of the V77 hoovers for chestnut harvesting went into production.
1996
With the increase in volumes, a machining department was set up on numerically controlled machines; this allowed greater quality control of certain key components, such as engine crankcases and, at a later stage, shaker components.
1998
The SC62 shaker was developed; the machine represented a radical change from the competition and introduced completely new components such as handles with an anti-vibration system. With the SC62, Cifarelli won the ‘EIMA Technical Innovation’ award and became the benchmark for the shaker market.
2004
From 2004, the shaker was equipped with a motor specially designed by Cifarelli: the C5 50 cm3 motor.
